We splurged on a family stay at a bungalow. The start was enjoyable. Our last evening there, we returned to find a voicemail notifying us the water was off due to an emergency. They offered water, a room to shower, and told us to call if we needed anything else. I called as we planned to do laundry that last evening prior to our departure while enjoying a night in watching the fireworks. The cast member told me about alternate laundry facilities as well, although to me one of the benefits of the larger rooms is the ability to do laundry as if I’m home. They offered us points back. The loss of water was over 12 hrs, and that was hard (anyone get up at night to use the toilet?!), but I appreciated they tried to make it right. The next morning, a manager stopped by and checked in on us. They learned from their missteps.

Read your mind and somehow do things unexpected of them. I do not shower in the mornings so this would not be an issue. My wife does so, so we would have asked for help – not just expected it. I promise that if any cast member reads this review they will be muttering about entitlement to their coworkers because good grief! You were accommodated at every turn but it wasn’t good enough! Grow up!

My biggest takeaway is the lesson learned – speak up or risk not having your issue resolved appropriately. Bravo,

While reading your story about your stay at the Bungalows, I was immediately reminded of our first (and last) stay at the Treehouse Villas. Let us just say that we had a similar experience with loss of utilities, except with power. Showered and attempted to get ready for a day in the parks with toddlers in complete darkness. We had nothing to eat that didn’t require some level of cooking except for some bananas. Zero response from Disney regarding the outage and expected time frame until we reached out (and all of the villas were out of power). The Treehouse villas were really beautiful, but I have to admit that experience tainted my feelings about returning.

We submitted a lost report ID 17643931 back on 11/19/20. To date we have not heard back from Disney regarding this issue. We have sent several requests after and still no response. If you leave anything behind you may never get it back!

Patricia, I echo your sentiments 100%. Walt would be mortified at how inaccessible WDW has become for the average family. When they built those bungalows in the water blocking the sight lines from the largest beach at the Polynesian resort, I knew we had lost whatever charm was left at the premium resorts. Even the Contemporary resort looks overly crowded and devoid of any Disney magic. Now they put up these cheap looking gondolas with no A/C and stopped adding to the monorail system… and why? It’s too expensive. Give. Me. A. Break. So much for reinvesting in what makes WDW unique and exciting. It’s all to ensure the shareholders get paid. I’m sure our family’s 2013 trip to WDW was our last, which is a shame. Walt would be mortified.
