Thanks for sharing your reviews of both–good for a side-by-side comparison.

Sounds like I really need to get back to both Park Vue Inn and Candy Cane Inn since they’ve finished their refreshes. Both probably deserve higher spots than they have here!

Usually we stay at Park Vue Inn. You can see my review from several months ago. Tropicana this time was about $200 cheaper for our rooms the middle of April. Figured it was a good time to try them out. The negatives, they didn’t let me know when my room was ready, parking was difficult (very tight spaces, I had to let my passengers out before I parked and I have a small size suv, and not enough spaces), they charge for parking, the rooms were smaller than Park Vue. Positive(s), the hotel is across the street from Disneyland. Still doing the math with the charge of parking we did save around $130. I will stay at Park Vue next time and pay the extra. If, by some chance, the savings is a lot more or Park Vue is booked I would stay at Tropicana. My top choice is still Park Vue hands down.

I think it would move into the top 5. This is coming from someone who is pretty picky with hotels 🙂

We stayed at the residence inn and convention center a couple of years ago based off of your list and loved it, but for various reasons the air bnb route is making more sense for us for an upcoming trip. I’m always hesitant with using them though so I was just wondering if you ever hear anything on that front.

For us as a family of 3, our lad was 7 first visit, 8 the 2nd, and with hotels, I book the cheapest I can find with decent enough reviews. At around £1100-£1200 for a 10 night stay, with over 8 out of 10 on booking.com
the location is great, 10-15 mins walk depending on road crossings, with plenty of food and shops between if you need snacks for the parks, or late night pizza to fuel you for the next day.
the hotel itself, it’s fine, if you are spending more time in your room other than to sleep, shower and get ready in the morning, you are not doing Disney right so who needs anything to fancy.
