It’s a typical bait and switch for annual passes and really makes the case to no longer supporting these old theme parks. Disney AP gives 4 parks vs 2 old parks at Universal. The wait times on the other rides do not support a Premier pass and there are plenty of Premier passholders and hotel guests who enjoyed this perk.

We are travelling from the UK so we booked our trip 8 months ago. Whilst I understand rides need to be refurbished, and guest flow can change offerings etc – it is massively disappointing for such a huge change to be just “dropped” on guests with such little warning. Both Disney and Universal need to take this into account much better than they do currently. This isn’t a change that has to be done immediately and presumably they have been considering this for a while. I get the timing, just before the big summer crowds but it does seem quite petty to drop this news now with no warning, when it could have waited until September/early October to be implemented

Mark my words…

Coming from Canada in September and quite sad this is taking away from us. I hate looking forward to something and out of nowhere they take it away, doesn’t feel right, even though I want to believe they’re doing it for the greater good. (Spoiler : it’s never the case, they will somehow make money out of this move)

I seem to be in the minority among blog commenters but I *loved* Minecart Madness; I cackled the whole time. Most of the guests I saw getting off the ride also looked like they had had a blast. I’m wondering if this is a case where the general public has a different sentiment than the online fanbase.

Granted, I did not wait 120+ mins for it since I made a beeline for it during early entry. But I did spend about an hour in the regular queue the first time; I wasn’t sure how much single rider lined skipped and didn’t want miss anything. After realizing that you can see Kranky Kong from the single rider line I did the attraction that way the next morning and managed 2 rides in about 40 mins (but realize SR isn’t feasible for all families and again, benefitted from doing it first thing).

In my experience (which is much more limited than WDW), single rider at UOR is hugely dependent on guest demographics when you visit. Go at time when Floridians are more likely to be in work or school and it’s materially better than nights, weekends, breaks, etc.
