I did an in-park “Capture the Moment” shoot for our anniversary at Animal Kingdom, and the photo quality was pretty awful. Like, the free photopass pictures we got that day were better than many of these. So it would make me very leery to try this. (If you ever want to see the pictures for a post I’m happy to share). And I’m honestly not someone who is overly picky either. I’m talking the lighting was so bad that our faces were covered in shadows in half the pictures.

Photography is expensive because it is an art, and I’m willing to pay for it when I know the quality (and style) I’m getting. $400 is a too big a gamble for me. I did a photoshoot at Art of Animation 10 years ago and those pictures are incredible. It’s so sad that I won’t be able to use photographers like that again.

The lodges would definitely be best, but probably a smaller pool of potential purchasers there. GF and Poly are logical starts for a pilot program.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on Starcruiser photos—sorry to hear that, but also not completely surprised.

They let you park at the resorts with any type of reservation, except CS Mobile Order.

– I hope they allow you in through the gate with your car at the Poly and GF for this, as I’d definitely want to arrive looking my freshest as opposed to hopping off a crowded bus.

– I did the portrait session on the Starcruiser on all three visits, and on my last two (a year apart) the photographers were both noticeably disinterested and clearly just trying to get through their shift. The pics still turned out okay, but it wasn’t a great time and I kind of regret it because the cost was 399 for 20 mins by the end. I haven’t even used any of the pics.

Not saying this will be the same but I was surprised at it coming from Disney! Especially because I’ve gotten stellar photos in the park from random photographers – if you have a great outfit and catch them when there is no crowd? They frequently have taken me around and done a mini private photoshoot for free! That’s never a guarantee, admittedly…I just hope this is closer to that magic than to the assembly line mentality.

I feel like that’s a missed opportunity there! Hopefully they will expand the resorts offered.

They were not high end but got some really great shots that hold up to this day.
I’m not surprised Disney is doing this and if they produce quality work it will be very popular.
